Samantha Mary Beiko is, primarily, an author of young adult fantasy. Her first novel, The Lake and the Library, was released in 2013 and was nominated for the Manitoba Book Award for Best First Book, as well as that year’s Aurora Award. Her recent novel, Scion of the Fox (ECW Press, 2017), is the first of The Realms of Ancient trilogy, and was called a “smart, complex, animal-based fantasy” by Kirkus Reviews. The sequels, Children of the Bloodlands and The Brilliant Dark are forthcoming in Fall 2018 and Fall 2019, respectively.

In addition to her writing, she is a full-time freelance editor, illustrator, and graphic designer specializing in print book and comic publishing. She is the co-editor of Gothic Tales of Haunted Love (Bedside Press, 2018), and won the 2017 Best Artist Aurora for her cover design work with Laksa Media. She is based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
